What’s the difference between my Available Balance and my Cash Balance?

At times, your Cash Balance may exceed your Available Balance.

“Available” refers to dollars settled in your Unchained account that you may use to settle bitcoin purchases or withdraw to your bank account. On the other hand, your Cash Balance includes your Available Balance and any pending deposits that have yet to settle. Pending deposits can still be used to purchase bitcoin. You may purchase as much bitcoin as your Cash Balance supports, up to $5MM per trade. However, in some cases, bitcoin settlement may be delayed.

Example: Say you have $10,000 settled in your Cash Balance and deposit an additional $50,000. Until the $50,000 is fully processed by Unchained, it will be marked as “Pending.” In this scenario, your Available Balance would be $10,000, and your Cash Balance, including the pending deposit, would be $60,000. Your maximum bitcoin purchase amount would be $60,000. Once the $50,000 deposit has settled, your bitcoin will be transferred to your vault.
