How do I perform a device check using my Coldcard?

Sign into your account, view the key you want to check, and click 'Check now'.

Device checks are regular check-ins to ensure the keys to your Unchained vault or loan are accessible and functioning.

How to perform a device check using your Coldcard:

1. Sign in to your Unchained account.

2. Navigate to the Keys page to see a full list of keys.

3. Locate the key you want to check. Click View.

4. Click Check now.
   

5. Select Coldcard.

6. Insert the micro SD card into your Coldcard.

7. Power on your Coldcard and enter your PIN.

8. On the Coldcard, go to Settings > Multisig Wallets > Export XPUB. Press ✔️ to continue. 

9. When prompted with a message, “This feature creates a small file containing the extended public keys…” Press ✔️ to continue. 

10. Enter 0 for the account number and press ✔️ to continue. The .json file will be generated and saved to your micro SD card.

11. Remove the micro SD card from the Coldcard and insert it into your computer’s micro SD card reader. 

12. In your Unchained account, click on Upload the XPUB.

13. Locate the .json file and upload it to Unchained.

14. Success! You’re done.
