What is a connection vault and how do I edit the settings?

You can share a vault with anyone on the Unchained platform using Connections.

By default, when sharing a vault, the recipient cannot see the vault details until you update vault permissions. This is known as a blinded vault.

The different types of permissions when sharing a vault:

  • Complete vault details: Your connection will have full-view access to this vault, including balance and transaction history. Once you share complete vault details, the vault cannot be unshared.
  • Vault balance: Your connection can only see the vault balance.
  • Deposit addresses: Your connection can only send bitcoin to your vault.

How to edit the vault settings:

  1. Sign in to your Unchained account and navigate to the Connections page by clicking Connections on the top navigation bar.
  2. Click View on an existing connection.
  3. Select the Vaults tab.
  4. Click the settings wheel icon to open the sharing settings.
  5. Choose the permissions you wish to grant to the connection partner.
  6. Select Update settings.
  7. Success!
