Why did I receive a 'wrong previous session' or 'incorrect state' error?
You likely need to refresh your browser or restart Trezor Suite.
Note: We have separate guides if you see a "root fingerprint" error, or if your Trezor isn't being detected by your computer.
The "wrong previous session" and "device detected in incorrect state" errors are not uncommon when using a Trezor. They are nothing to worry about, and there are a few things you can try that will usually resolve the issue.
- Make sure you only have one Trezor connected to your computer at a time.
- If you see a Use Trezor here button, click it.
- Refresh your internet browser and try the operation again.
- Unplug your Trezor and plug it back in. You may need to enter your PIN again.
- Close your Trezor Suite program and reopen it.
- If none of the above suggestions resolve the issue, try restarting your computer.
